The Introduction...
During my book launch party last month, I had the opportunity to leverage the talents of my family and friends. My friend and former colleague, Amanee Scott-Stephan introduced me prior to me reading a passage from my recently released book, Find Your Fabulous: The Fearless Fashionista Approach to Developing and Owning Your Style. I just adore Amanee—her energy is so infectious—and she makes me laugh every time I’m around her. I just loved her introduction. Here it is…
“I knew Lauren was out of place when I met her. It’s not that stylish women don’t exist in numbers in corporate America, but Lauren was different. You could see there was serious skill in how she was “put together”—an even more serious talent that wouldn’t be fed in corporate. From the perfectly coifed follicles, killer red lip, winged liner, interesting specs, on down through the outfit/lay complete with the footwear…and we met on a “casual Friday.” If someone could make blue jeans look that exciting, then they should not be in analytics but somewhere making others look and feel exciting.
Lauren’s style and essence would make a strong, self-confident woman question those attributes about herself, as her eyes turn green with envy watching Lauren sway through the office. You may THINK your look is together, and may even been feeling yourself…THEN…LAUREN. You can tell with every item of her look, it is deliberate. She’s an INTENTIONAL stunna, making your eyes go to places and notice the details of her patterns, textures, colors, hemlines, mixed-media, blended styles. She ensures you not only notice her but accidentally stare, trying to enjoy all of these elements like a work of art. She is exactly that; an artist, and innovator a risk-taker. All of the things that would make you consistently covetous, unless you approach her, get to know her, and love her as much as I do.”
