Fashion in a Post-COVID World

I will admit that COVID-19 has done a number on my fashion game. I have allowed this pandemic to replace my daily uniform of stilettos, statement pieces, and a bold red lip with pajamas, baggy t-shirts, and no makeup.

My clothes and shoes miss me, I’m tired of being in a fashion rut, and I really need an excuse to get dressed up.

I have made a few attempts to glam myself up by putting on a full face of makeup only to wind up looking something like this when I remove my face covering…

…because masks and makeup don’t really go together.

Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but you get the point. On a more serious note, I’m really going to have to rethink my cosmetics strategy!

Anyway...I’ve been wondering how fashion will be impacted over time by the COVID crisis and found this article which discusses that very subject. The author states that “major historical events, including pandemics, recessions, and wars change the way women dress.” I look forward to seeing how this plays out. Will we be more casual as a society? Will we be more dressy? If you know anything about me, I’m in favor of the latter. And if you happen to see me at the supermarket or drug store looking like this, don’t be surprised.

I have to make up for all the time I’ve spent indoors sheltering in place in comfy unfashionable clothing.

How has the COVID crisis impacted the way you show up in the world? Drop me a note in the comments section below and let me know.
