Regaining My Stiletto Stamina

Hello my fashionable friends,

Over the past several months while working from home, I haven’t had the need to wear heels. I recently dusted off my stilettos for a few photo shoots and boy was I in for a rude awakening!

It was a struggle to walk in my shoes—even for a few short minutes.

This is COMPLETELY unacceptable, and I’m wondering how I can get my stiletto stamina back.

  • Do I walk around the house every day for a few hours to reactivate those muscles?

  • Are there special exercises to help me regain my high heel endurance?

I’m going to dig in and do a little research to figure it out, but in the meantime, I’m going to start embracing lower-heeled but equally fabulous options—like these amazing oxfords by The Office of Angela Scott.

I styled my shoes with a pair of loose-fitting girlfriend jeans from The Gap, a t-shirt from CEO of My Life , and a blazer from Express. The blazer is old but there are other amazing options here.

Blazers are a must-have item for me, and I own numerous colors, cuts, and textures.

They can add polish to jeans and a tee, rein in a billowy dress, or complete a more conservative look—like a suit.

Here’s a closer look at the t-shirt.

In addition to fabulous flats, I’ve been wearing a lot of sneakers, including Chuck Taylors, which are always cute and stylish. It’s important to remain flexible when it comes to fashion. Different occasions and circumstances call for different looks and levels of comfort.

I will have to put in a little work to restore my stiletto-walking capabilities back to my pre-COVID glory, but until then—I will continue to keep it cute, but at a more modest heel height.
