Anatomy of an Outfit (AOAO): Patchwork and Leather Bamboo Earrings
Hello my fashionable friends,
Due to requests for my outfit details, I’m going to start a new recurring feature titled, “Anatomy of an Outfit (AOAO).” This feature will provide the thought process behind my outfit selections, and include links so you can purchase the same or similar items.
The Jacket
I love interesting and unique pieces, and I try to wear at least one item of interest when getting dressed. This denim and sherpa jacket and fingerless faux fur trimmed gloves are from Steuben Closet in Brooklyn, New York. I love the combination of colors and textures, and the cropped length of the jacket.
The Earrings
I’m a 70s baby, and the 80s ad 90s made me. I love hip hop style from that era, and bamboo and doorknocker earrings are like a time machine that transport me back to a time in my life when everything was so fun and carefree.
These leather bamboo earrings are by Seville Michelle. This brand has taken classic styles and given them a face lift with interesting colors and textures. I just adore the collection.
The Bag
I purchased this messenger bag from Coach a few years ago. I love the look of messenger bags — they’re practical, stylish, and the size of this bag accommodates all of my essentials.

The Jeans
I purchased these jeans from Express a couple of years ago. The stripe on the sides ties into the dark patch on the sleeve of the jacket.

The Boots
When I saw these boots I thought to myself, “I must add these to my wardrobe.” The patchwork detailing reminds me of the 70s, and I thought they’d look great with the jacket—tying into the patchwork theme.
The heel height looks intimidating, but the platform makes them more manageable. The boots are available for purchase here.
