When I think about making a statement with my clothing, my go-to tactics usually include a bold accessory, an interesting print or shape, or a vivid color. And sometimes I use a combination of techniques to create the desired effect.

In this case, I used bold accessories (shades, necklace and boots), a vivid color (red), and an interesting shape (sweatshirt sleeves) for a head-to-toe eye-catching look.

When looking to make your style statement, determine if you’d like to focus on one area, or if you’d like to accentuate several areas for a more dramatic impact.

Sweatshirt: Exaggerated and embellished shoulders and sleeves are on trend right now, and I just love the sleeves of this sweatshirt. I knotted the front to create my waistline.
