Custom Clothing Without the Fuss

I grew up in a household with a master seamstress. My mother loved to sew and made a lot of her own clothing — and when my sisters and I came along, she made our clothes too — including matching outfits. I didn’t realize it at the time, but custom-made clothing is great because you get unique items that fit your exact specifications.
Because ready-to-wear clothing is available everywhere and is so easy to obtain, it can be easy to forget that custom clothing is an option. I recently learned about a company called Sumisurra, that allows you to create custom pieces based on your preferences — and I decided to try them out.
I’ve been working from home since the pandemic hit and hadn’t worn a suit in quite a while, so I decided to add a unique suit, in an interesting color and pattern, to my wardrobe.

I selected this fabric because it not only makes a statement, but it’s the embodiment of life and energy. The green represents the growing grass and plants, and the flowers are a great representation of the spring.

I chose every aspect of the design including the lapels, the number of buttons on the sleeves, the color of the thread, and more.
A pink lining and my initials
To me, it’s all about the little details. I just adore the pink lining inside the jacket, and I even got my initials sewn inside. How fabulous is that?

I completed the look with a pair of pink floral shoes to complement the pink flowers in the suit.
The Process
It was easy and fun to create this look. Sumisurra makes it really simple by walking you through the entire process. You answer a series of questions so they can create your measurements, and if you want to provide your own measurements, they provide videos to show you exactly what to do to ensure the perfect fit. A Happy Ending
A few weeks later, my suit was delivered to my doorstop and it was a great experience from start to finish. I’m pleased with the quality of the suit, and everything was so easy.
In addition to suits, Sumisurra also allows you to customize shirts, dresses, and separates to provide you with options for a number of professional and social events. And if for some reason your clothing doesn’t fit perfectly, they provide you with options to resolve any issues.
